Liverpool 3 Cardiff City 1 - Match Reaction

Luis Diaz dazzled with an assist on his debut while comeback kid Harvey Elliott put a smile on our faces with his first goal for the club, and at the Kop no less, as the Reds despatched Cardiff to set up a last 16 showdown with Norwich City.

The window slammed shut and the Reds had one shiny new signing, one very near miss and a couple of lads left on loan. Divock is still here though, thank God, as you never know when we might need him to don his Superman cape and save the day.

A hard fought victory after a game of two halves. The Reds started brilliantly but faded and needed heroics from Alisson to preserve a huge three points to close the gap on Man City to within single digits.

Arsenal 0 Liverpool 2 - Match Reaction

No Salah, no Mané, no problem as Diogol stepped up to get it done and send the Reds to a Wembley showdown with Chelsea in a few weeks.

Chris Smith is joined by Julian Richards as well as TLW Editor Dave Usher to savour a highly satisfactory night for the Redmen who put Arsenal back in their box after the Gunners were smelling themselves a bit too much following last week's 0-0 at Anfield.

Jota was on fire, Robbo was relentless, Virgil dominant, Jones caught the eye and Trent channelled his inner Tom Brady. Not bad for a team that apparently had to fake a COVID outbreak because they were too scared to face the mighty Arsenal two weeks ago.

Liverpool 3 Brentford 0 - Match Reaction

For the second time this season the Reds put three past Brentford but thankfully on this occasion there was no defensive collapse as Jurgen Klopp's side recorded their first league win since mid-December.

TLW Editor Dave Usher, Julian Richards and Ian Brown look back on an important, albeit fairly uninspiring, victory for the Reds. The lads also preview the upcoming League Cup semi final second leg at the Emirates.

 

 

 

Liverpool 0 Arsenal 0 - Match Reaction

It's all to play for next week in the second leg as the Reds served up a stinking performance in being held to a goalless draw by ten man Arsenal.

A mix and match Liverpool side eased into the FA Cup 4th Round after recovering from an early shock to see off League One Shrewsbury 4-1 at Anfield.

TLW Editor Dave Usher and Paul Natton reflect on a satisfying afternoon in L4 as Kaide Gordon became the second youngest goalscorer in club history, Bobby marked his return with a goal and Fabinho bagged an unlikely brace.

Liverpool's 2022 got underway with an eventful, incident packed 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea probably shaded the contest but the Reds will feel they should have gone way with maximum points having led 2-0.

Leicester City 1 Liverpool 0 - Match Reaction

The Reds suffered their second defeat of the season after slumping to a 1-0 reversal at Leicester. Despite having had extra time to rest up the performance was surprisingly lethargic and lacking in sharpness and the result leaves Klopp's side six points off the top and facing a must win game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Liverpool 3 Leicester 3 (Reds win 5-4 on pens) - Match Reaction

How much fun was that! It may have only been the League Cup but Anfield was rocking like it was a big European night, as the understrength Reds came from 2-0 down to overcome Leicester's first eleven and set up a semi final clash with Arsenal.
