The Reds went out with barely a whimper as Real Madrid cruised along in second gear and went through by a four goal margin on aggregate.

Crystal Palace 0 Liverpool 0 - Match Reaction

It was an uneventful, uninspiring night under the lights at Selhurst Park as the Reds were held to a 0-0 draw by Palace. The result itself isn't too bad but it's hard to feel anything other than disappointed by the nature of the performance.

A massively chastening experience for the Reds as a dream start quickly turned into a living nightmare. 2-0 up and flying, but then goal after goal went in at the other end as the last chance of a trophy this season went up in smoke.

Back to back wins and the top four is suddenly a realistic target again. Great goals from Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo gave the Reds a dream start and although they failed to add further goals, despite the home side playing for over an hour with ten men, the three points keeps the momentum going following the derby win last week.

Well that's more like it. A win, a good performance, Mo back in the goals, Gakpo off the mark and Everton still in the bottom three. All in all a good night's work for the Reds.
