Proper footy is back but little seems to have changed over the break. Sloppy goals conceded, more injuries and a disappointing loss. It's like we haven't been away at all.
The defence of the League Cup is over after a 3-2 defeat at Man City that was as frustrating as it was entertaining. TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by Julian Richards and Ian Brown to look back on this game and look ahead to the next one.

Liverpool are pretty much guaranteed CL football with the new rules it’s a sad fact so buyers won’t be put off if we don’t make Top 4 so no need for current to put hands in pockets. I don’t think it was all bad last night to be honest I thought City were unplayable at times if we’d of hoofed to nunez we would of lost the ball to a team that were attacking really well. City deserved so much more with how they played and we managed to stop a complete rout. I saw many positives from that game.
